Producer / Writer / Director Gregg Barson with the subject of his documentary, Phyllis Diller
GREGG BARSON is a Los Angeles-based producer, writer and director. Barson and his partner, Julie Ashton, are the principals of the newly formed, boutique-style production company Mansfield Avenue Productions. The company was founded in 2002 to create the feature-length documentary GOODNIGHT, WE LOVE YOU.

Prior to forming Mansfield Avenue, Barson spent 15 years in the marketing and advertising business, employed by major television distributors including Warner Bros. and Carsey-Werner.

He has written, produced and edited countless on-air promos, sales presentations, launch campaigns and radio spots for many popular television shows, including "Friends," "ER," "The Drew Carey Show", "Cosby" and "That '70s Show." Gregg most recently produced a tribute presentation about the legendary animation duo of Hanna-Barbera, for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in March 2005.

GOODNIGHT, WE LOVE YOU is Barson's first feature-length directorial film. A graduate of Emerson College in Boston with a major in television production, Barson initially started shooting and editing 8mm movies at the age of nine. With a love of classic comedy and comedians, he chose Phyllis Diller as his first feature subject, capturing her unlimited talents and an historical moment in her extraordinary life.
